But this wasn't just any game of soccer: the win put the U.S. at the top of their group in the World Cup, which means they now advance to the Round of 16 to face 2006 party-poopers Ghana. Simultaneously, Jacob's favorite team England won a game against Slovenia, which likewise qualified them to move on to the Round of 16, though in a slightly less favorable position than the U.S.
